The program pits a capella groups against each other for a major cash prize and recording contract, and there are no lengthy - boring audition porcesses, no freaks, just lots of talents groups from across America.
Other stars include Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls who has joined on as a judge (even though she has been criticised for commenting more on the fashion than the singing) - along with Ben Folds and Shawn Stockman... and it looks like it will be the hit of the Christmas season.
It only got pipped at the post by the finale of SYTYCD on Fox - so the Sing Off looks as though it will be a huge hit for NBC.
We are wondering if it will extend into a longer format show, or follow suit across the globe and spawn a whole bunch of 'localised' versions... but hey - when Nick is hosting the USA version, we at least want a viewing here in Oz...
