For the past few years, Channel 10 has done the live broadcast of the fireworks in Sydney bookmarked by live entertainment like Natalie Bassingthwaighte, TV Rock Jessica Mauboy etc… but don't tune in thinking you will be getting the fireworks this year. The network has said it will be playing fireworks, but they will be highlights of LAST YEARS, with comedy from Shaun Micallef… in my opinion this is a tad reckless from the network to even show any fireworks, as it could make people miss the real ones… will these be on at 9 and 12 or other times? Was this also on purpose to confuse people or just try and steal marketshare? Or a jab and a quick laugh?
If your looking for the real fireworks, then tune in to Channel 9 - but don't expect anything great from the coverage… in between the actual fireworks displays, Richard Wilkins and MTV USA cast off - turned local weather girl, Lynsday Rodrigues will be hosting an "ARIA Chart
Show" special - which is just plain ass video clips for hours on end…. yawn!
If you want to avoid the fireworks entirely, then tune in to Channel 7, where they will be showing Lord Of The Rings or the ABC showing a Human Nature concert with the Sydney symphony orchestra.
Either way - whatever your New Years Eve viewing - have fun and we wish you a fantastic New Year!
