
The X Factor made a triumphant return to Channel Seven last night, landing at Number One on the ratings leader board, as well as creating a storm across the social media world.
With new judges Natalie Bassingthwaighte and Scary Spice Mel B joining Ronan Keating and Guy Sebastian at the desk, The X Factor unveiled a whole raft of new Aussie singing talent, across all age groups, which had the country buzzing.
The X Factor, at Number One for the night, attracted a national audience of 1.319 million viewers – and won key demographics – people 16-39; people 18-49; and people 25-54.
On Twitter, The X Factor Australia - #xfactorau – was trending worldwide and was number one globally, peaking during the powerful performance of Emmanuel Kelly.
Judge Ronan Keating was tweeting live during last night’s show – tonight, Natalie Bassingthwaighte will be interacting with X Factor fans during the show - @nataliebassing.
Other performances that had the country talking included “singing nut salesman” Andrew Wishart; Queensland country crooner Mitchell Callaway; 16 year pocket rocket from Adelaide Reece Mastin; 15 year old Sydney schoolgirl Christina Parie; and the group that divided the judges, twin sisters Mel and Amy, who formed the group Up Front.
