Madonna's official rep has quashed rumours about the superstars next world tour after a "tour itinerary" on LIVENATION letterhead was doing the rounds on social networking websites and media outlets.
Liz Rosenberg - the longtime trusted publicist for the material girl was contacted by Billboard and she cleared up the rumours.
A Live Nation press release was recently posted on Madonna fansite (Drowned World), listing tour dates for a four continent tour that was allegedly starting in March next year in Auckland, New Zealand. Drowned World even publicly admits to sitting on the document for a few hours as they were unsure of its authenticity.
However, Liz Rosenberg, Madonna’s publicist has said that both the dates and press release are ‘fake’. Rosenberg however has said that in regards to Madonna appearing at the Super Bowl XLVI Halftime Show in February, "there is nothing to confirm or deny at this time."
Meanwhile, Madonna has confirmed she will release her new album next spring. The singer said she has started work on the record with producer William Orbit (Ray of Light fame) and is expected to be busy in her New York studio until the end of the year.
She also confirmed that the first single for the record is due out in February or March.
The album, which is the follow-up to 2008's 'Hard Candy', will be her first in a deal to release music in partnership with concert promoter Live Nation.
