Brad Pitt has donated $100,000 to fight an initiative to ban gay marriage that is headed for the November ballot in California. If approved, Proposition 8 would overturn the California Supreme Court's landmark May ruling that it is unconstitutional to ban gay marriage. "Because no one has the right to deny another their life even though they disagree with it, because everyone has the right to live the life they so desire if it doesn't harm another & because discrimination has no place in America, my vote will be for equality & against Proposition 8," Pitt said in a statement. California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger & Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama oppose Proposition 8. Republican nominee John McCain is in favour of it. Pitt said about his own relationship with Angelina Jolie, "Angie & I will consider tying the knot when everyone else in the country who wants to be married is legally able." Pitt & Jolie also announced that their foundation was making a $2 million contribution to fight HIV/AIDS & tuberculosis in Ethiopia.
